Cleaning up the Ocean

Today we were talking about the different types of pollution we have on the planet and how they are caused and affect us: land pollution, water pollution, and air pollution.  One of my students mentioned the massive collection of garbage in the ocean and I remembered seeing something from a little while ago that gave me hope for an eventual clean-up:
