Today the class wrote their decimals place value quiz and some trends I saw were that this concept needs to be practiced and reinforced more than the whole number place value lessons. I, personally, always found decimals to be trickier to learn than whole numbers, mostly because you have to name them differently than you do whole numbers because the first digit to the right of a decimal point is the tenths (a single whole number split into 10 equal parts).
Please help your child go over the concepts we learn each day - if you have them teach you what they learned in class, they master the math that much sooner.
