Today we worked on understanding place value up to the ten thousands place.
Students concluded their day by playing a game of 'guess the number' where they were given a range of 1-10000 to guess and I would tell them each a chance to narrow down the range by telling them if their guess was greater than or less than the number I had written down. This is a great game to play because it works on the concepts of understanding place value and comparing whole numbers.
Students were asked to play this game with family this evening as it will help them 'study' for their short quiz in the morning.
