Welcome!

6/18/2015

Dear Families,

My name is Ms. Handel and I will be working with your child this summer in the Grade 4/5 Challenge Math Summer Learning Program.  I have taught all subjects in Grades 5, 6, and 7 in the past five years, but I am particularly fond of teaching Math!  Each day our class will engage in a combination of reviewing Math they have learned in the past, as well as looking ahead to the Math they will be learning in the upcoming school year. I am confident that your child will have a memorable time meeting new friends while further developing their Math skills.

I am requesting some supplies please be brought in on the first day of school:

·       A 1” binder (or anything similar to quickly take assignments out and put them away – not duotangs)
·       1 pack of pencils
·       1 pencil sharpener
·       1 eraser
·       1 blue pen
·       1 Math set (including ruler, compass, and protractor)
·       1 pack of pencil crayons
·       1 glue stick
·       1 pair of scissors
·       1 highlighter

Please make sure your child is at school each day, arrives on time, and has all the supplies they will need to be successful.  We will start each session right away as we have lots of learning to do.  Please check out my classroom website on a regular basis to find out what we have learned in class at: http://www.mshandel.net/summer-session-2015

Thank you and, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me at [email protected]

I am looking forward to meeting you on July 6th, and working with your child this summer!

Sincerely,
Ms. Handel
