July 7 - Day 2

7/8/2015

Where to even begin?  It was a busy, busy day again with Math up to our ears and a fire drill thrown in for safety.  Our class was delightfully respectful of the safety procedures during this quick drill.  Well done, class!

  • Word problem starter
  • Review of place value up to 100 000 000 and down to 0.001
  • Regrouping for addition and subtraction practice/review
  • Rounding whole and decimals numbers
  • Daily Math Practice #1: Rounding due in at the end of the day

Yes, we managed to pack ALL of that into one session day.  By all means, practice, practice, practice with your children at home on the concepts we discuss and review in class.  One of the best ways to solidify knowledge is for students to become the teacher to others once they have the concept down pat.

All the best,
Ms. H

PS - Please, please, please get any overdue forms in by tomorrow (Wednesday, July 8), as I have plans to show students an online resource to help them with Math concepts for the next few weeks (and will continue to make available to them over the summer).  Your child can only be granted access to school computers once the forms have been completed and returned.
