It 's Friday! The sun is shining, the students have been set loose on the world...and homework was assigned!
Today we started off with a journal entry. I will ask that students always copy down the journal topic before they respond to it. That way I will always be able to refer back to the question at hand. Today's topic was: What puts you into a bad mood? How do you get out of it?
Textbook walk - we went through one of the textbooks that is available to us in the class. Even though these are grade 4 textbooks, we went over the features that can be found in most textbooks such as:
10 Sentences - we have looked at 23 vocabulary words from The Tale of Despereaux over the past four days. I asked students to write 10 sentences using 10 vocabulary words. This means that students were using at least one word in each sentence. If they used more than one word in each sentence, power to them! This was due in by the end of the day.
Despereaux - I read chapter 11-15 today, which brings us to the end of book one. Questions and vocabulary words were assigned and sent as homework if not completed in class.
Homework:
Despereaux chapters 11-15 questions and vocabulary due in Monday, July 15th.
Have a great weekend,
Ms. Handel
